Want more than a few lights along the gutters? We can build a display around the property instead of simply decorating one line.
Here's the thing about Christmas lights: the lights themselves aren't usually the dangerous part.
Getting them where they need to go can be.
I'm a 2nd-generation roofer. I've been around roofs and ladders since I was a kid. Being comfortable on a roof isn't something you learn from watching a five-minute YouTube video.
Roof pitches, footing, ladder placement, reaching, carrying equipment, moving around corners and knowing when something isn't worth the reach—those things come from repetition and experience.
So when I install Christmas lights, I'm not looking at your house thinking, "How can I reach that?"
I'm thinking, "What's the right way to get there?"
Austin is a big, wonderfully weird city—and the houses are just as different.
You've got older homes with character, newer construction with huge rooflines, modern homes, established neighborhoods with mature trees, homes tucked into hills and properties where the front elevation looks simple from the street until you actually start measuring it.
That's why we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all Christmas light package.
Rooflines have peaks, valleys, gutters, eaves, transitions and elevated areas that can look easy from the ground. Once you're up there holding a bundle of lights, clips and an extension cord, the equation changes.
The goal isn't to see how far you can reach from a ladder. The goal is to position the ladder correctly so you're not turning a simple lighting job into an awkward balancing act.
Lights, clips, tools, cords, ladders and repeated trips around a property add up quickly. Then there's the part where you do it all again because one section doesn't look quite right from the street.
Between work, family, shopping, parties and everything else that happens in December, spending an entire Saturday on a ladder may not be the holiday memory you were hoping to create.
Straight rooflines, consistent spacing, clean corners, balanced coverage and lighting that follows the architecture make a display feel intentional. That's the difference between simply hanging lights and designing a Christmas display.
Maybe you want a classic warm-white roofline.
Maybe you want the whole front of the house glowing.
Maybe the trees need lights, the entry needs something extra and the house needs to look like Santa's GPS should have no trouble finding it.
That's all part of the conversation.
We'll look at the property, think through the rooflines and access, and figure out what makes sense for the house. The point isn't to sell you the biggest Christmas display imaginable. It's to create a display that looks right on your property.
Experience matters when you're working at height.
I've spent years around roofs, ladders, different pitches, changing conditions and the little decisions that keep a job moving without getting careless.
That experience carries directly into Christmas light installation.
When I look at an Austin house, I'm already thinking about where the lights should start, how the roofline flows, where the difficult access points are, how the display will look from the street and how we're going to get back down when the job is finished.
That's what experience gives you: repetition.
